Two liaison officers, Afioga Saoleititi Maeva Betham Vaai and Lynn Ioana Malolua of World Bank Group gave a lecture to class HDS501 Development Partnerships on Wednesday 12 May 2021. The presentation covered a range of topics on: The Role of World Bank Group in Samoa’s Development, International Development Association (IDA) Fund & IDA’s Portfolio in Samoa. Some of the projects that are funded by World Bank Group includes; 1) the Mali’oli’o Bridge, Samalaeulu, Savai’i Enhanced Road Access Project (ERAP), West Coast-Road, Saina-Malua, Upolu, West Coast-Road Project (WCRP), the Leone Bridge, Upolu, Enhance Road Access Projects (ERAP) & Vaitele 4 Lane Street (SIAMP-II) under the supervision of Transport & Infrastructure Sector Development; 2) New Pharmaceutical warehouse & New Sataua District Hospital in Savaii under Health Sector Department & many other projects under Agriculture, Communication & Information Technology, Environment (Climate Resilience) & Civil Aviation Sector Developments.
