Development Studies postgraduate students went on a field trip to visit the ecological scenic sites around Upolu on the 01st May 2021. They visited the Piula Cave Pool, Le-Mafa Lookout, Sopoaga Waterfall, Vavau Beach and the Tosua Ocean Trench. These are well-known sites/areas in Samoa. The students spent the whole day exploring and marvelously at these beautiful breathtaking sites. The tour ended with them staying overnight at the four star hotel – Saletoga Sands Resort & Spa where the owner, Mr. Gavin Brightwell gave a thorough and intriguing lecture on the challenges of managing his resort in the midst of the COVID-19 Lockdown. Thank you Mr. Brightwell & your staff for the warm hospitality. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors!
The Centre for Samoan Studies Archaeology and Cultural Heritage team organized the tour while the National University of Samoa Students Association (NUSSA) and the Centre for Samoan Studies financial support made this trip possible. THANK YOU 🙂
