HDS501 Development Partnerships course had the privilege of receiving a guest lecture by the Third Secretary Ms. Huiping Zhou from the Embassy of People’s Republic of China in Samoa on Tuesday, 9 May 2023. Her presentation covered a range of topics regarding China aid to Samoa, the Pacific, and other developing countries, which included China’s approach, philosophical origins, and principles for international development corporations. The leader of the China Medical Team Dr Zhang also joined the class, and presented on their grassroots activities on both Upolu and Savai’i. We are so grateful for the continued generous support from the Embassy for our Development Studies programme.
