Dr Fetaomi Tapu-Qiliho presented on the topic ‘Tuvaluan Diaspora within Oceania’, as part of the Centre for Samoan Studies Seminar and film series on the 26th September 2019.

Fiji and Samoa are home to myriad of ethbic groups that have eventuated because of migration…..this research however concentrates on Polynesian ethnic enclaves that exist in both rural and urban extremes of these host countries…”
Fetaomi earned her PhD in Pacific studies from the University of Otago. Her thesis focused on Tuvaluan communities in Samoa and Fiji and their ethnic identity and belongingness in diaspora within Oceania. She is currently the academic director for School for International Training (SIT) in Samoa.
