Dr Masami Tsujita Levi was invited to give a lecture in the International Communication class at Kansai University in Osaka on 18 Dec 2018. The lecture titled Beyond the Paradise, introduced Samoa and explained its relationship with Japan in the context of foreign development aid. The lecture was well attended with about 100 students and four professors from Faculty of Sociology. According to the pre-lecture survey, only 4 out of 87 students attended the class that day said they have heard the name Samoa! Fortunately, after the lecture, several students wrote in their comment sheets that they want to visit Samoa.
Kansai University is one of the prestigious private universities in Japan, established in 1922. It has 13 faculties and 13 graduate schools, attended by more than 30,000 students. International Communication class is part of Media Studies Major Program under the Faculty of Sociology.
